Hopscotch needs you! We’re on the hunt for a content partner to help us on a project

Due date: Weds 21st October, 5pm

What is Studio You?

Studio You ( is a video platform created by Hopscotch, funded by Sport England and powered by This Girl Can. It is designed to be a tool used to engage less active teenage girls in PE and has been developed over the last nine months using insight from both PE teachers and girls within KS3 and KS4. Its ultimate ambition is to reconnect them with physical education, improve their confidence and make being active fun.

The platform was soft launched in September 2020 and is currently in pilot with 20 schools across England until December 2020. It features a range of fun activities, such as yoga and boxing, that we know girls want to try, in a series of easy-to-follow videos – all of which are linked to the curriculum through learning outcomes.

Studio You is built on insight from both teachers and students. Currently children and young people aged 5-18 should engage in 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity a day, yet only 10% of girls aged 13-16 achieve this (Active Lives survey 2019). School PE lessons play a vital role in helping teenagers reach their recommended amount of exercise and building a healthy long-term relationship with physical activity. Despite the countless benefits, there are a variety of reasons stopping teenage girls from being as active as they should be. Studio You was co-created with teachers and young people to target and engage disengaged girls within their PE lessons, with the view that it will encourage them to enjoy and continue to be active in the future.

What are we looking for?

Hopscotch Consulting have led a consortium of partners in the development of Studio You. They include a research and evaluation agency, a youth experience production agency and a digital agency. Now the pilot content has been delivered, the national rollout content is up for tender. This brief relates to the production of national rollout content, taking learnings from the development of the pilot content and also feedback from the pilot itself. We are looking for a partner who will bring world-class content creation to join our journey to national rollout in late February 2021.

The content you create must deliver on the following principles:

  • Be first and foremost fun
  • Be teacher led, student inspired
  • Be flexible for use within a school setting
  • Be curriculum linked
  • Be forward thinking

We have a budget of 200k (+VAT) for the total cost of the content planning and production of content for national roll out (Feb-July 2021). It is worth noting that the project is currently funded by Sport England and the National Lottery.
